Improvements and new features in Musicnizer 7.0
[!] Licensing changes. Now a single registration code works for all organizers.
Licensing policy changes in Musicnizer 7.0. Now you can use your registration data with 3 organizers: Movienizer (movie organizer), Musicnizer (music organizer) and Booknizer (book organizer). It is sufficient to enter your registration code once, in one of the programs. Furthermore, now you can choose between 1-year and lifetime licenses.
[+] Added support for WavPack (.wv).
Musicnizer 7.0 supports additional audio formats. In particular, special support for a popular lossless format, WavPack, was added. WavPack files typically have the .wv filename extension.
[+] Showing pie charts in the statistics.
The "Diagram" tab of the "Statistics" window can now draw pie charts. In previous versions of Musicnizer, only bar chart diagrams were available.
[+] On the Pictures tab of the Edit info window, several pictures can be selected.
It is now easier to edit information about music albums and artists. On the "Pictures" tab of the "Edit info" window for an album or an artist, you can select several pictures at once and apply an action (change their type, delete them). You can add pictures to selection using Ctrl + Click.
[+] When you navigate using "Back" and "Forward" buttons, the scrolling position is saved.
Sometimes a page contain pretty much information, and you need to scroll down to see some details (alternatively, tabs on the album / artist pages can be used). Suppose that you scrolled down on an artist's page and clicked on some album to learn more about it. After checking the album's page, you click the "Back" button on the toolbar to return to the artist's page. Previous versions of Musicnizer would display the page from the top. Musicnizer 7.0 remembers your scrolling position, just like a browser would do, making navigation between pages more comfortable.
[+] It is now possible to change size of icons on the main toolbar.
Musicnizer 7.0 features bigger icons on the main toolbar. You can select from 3 available sizes by right-clicking the toolbar.
[+] Items on the "Collection" tab can be moved up and down the list.
Albums on the "Albums" tab (in the left part of the main window) can be sorted in a few different ways. More sorting options you get on the "Collection" tab. The main advantage of this tab is that it's fully configurable. You can create your own sorting methods and remove existing ones, using the "Manage" - "Customize collection" window.
Musicnizer 7.0 allows moving items on the "Collection" tab up and down the list. Now, instead of deleting all items and re-adding them in the desired order, you can simply move individual items to the desired position.
[+] You can add any audio formats in the file scanner settings.
If a particular audio format is not recognized by Musicnizer, you can click the "File scanner settings" link in the "Add album" window (when adding from files and folders), then click the green plus button in the file scanner settings window and enter your own formats:
[+] When creating a backup copy, the program checks database integrity.
Musicnizer offers an easy way of creating backups of your collection. Just select "File" - "Create a backup copy" and choose a location where backups should be saved. Musicnizer 7.0 additionally checks integrity of your database to make sure that the backup contains correct data. If there is a problem, Musicnizer will stop creating the backup and display a message.
You can disable integrity check. This will allow the program creating backups faster, but we wouldn't recommend it.
[+] Creating an illustrated catalog for Dune HD players with a different network name.
The default network name of Dune HD players is "Dune". Musicnizer uses it to recognize the player on your network. However, you can change the network name manually, which especially makes sense if you have several Dune HD players.
Musicnizer 7.0 takes this into account and allows using custom network names with your Dune HD players.
[*] Improved support for Unicode in Dune HD patterns.
While Musicnizer 6 fully supported Unicode, some problems might show themselves when you created a music catalog for your Dune HD player. Musicnizer 7.0 improves support for Unicode in Dune HD patterns.
[*] When you start the program, it automatically checks for newer versions of scripts and download new scripts.
Scripts are special modules that allow downloading information about music albums and artists from various sources. Scripts are updated, when the corresponding internet source changes its format. In this case, using an older version of the corresponding script may result into getting incomplete or wrong information. That's why Musicnizer checks for newer versions of scripts every time you start the program. Previous versions of Musicnizer checked updates only for the active pair of scripts. Musicnizer 7.0 checks updates for all scripts and additionally downloads missing scripts. This is important if you use more than one pair of scripts.
